English Language School

Introduction

English courses vary in the level of entry, length of course, and qualifications gained. Students can learn general English as well as preparation for IELTS and Cambridge. Many international students are learning towards the next step: main stream courses available at Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology.

Our English Language School is part of the NMIT campus, which means the students can mix with NZ students and use all the faciliites.

Entry dates are flexible - nearly every Monday for 2000.
Placement tests are held on Monday mornings, but from 2001, tests will be held on Thursdays prior to the week the student wishes to begin class.

Full time and part time study is available.
Dual enrolment is available for advanced students (study English and an academic programme at the same time).

A full range of programmes is offered:

• General English from 2 weeks to one year
• IELTS preparation March and September
• Cambridge FCE June and September
• TOEFL preparation July - September
• Summer School December - January
• Group tours (tailor made programmes)

  12-14 students in one class (sometimes less)
  Easy transfer from the English Language School to academic programmes
